Anesthesia

Anesthesia Machine

Artificial ventilation helps to assist or stimulate the breathing of a patient when they are unable to sufficiently do so themselves, putting their life at risk. During the inspiration phase, ventilators will force a mixture of Air and Oxygen into the patients' lungs at an elevated pressure. There are various types of ventilators. Very sophisticated devices are used in ICU (Intensive Care Units) / Critical Care. Other ventilators need to be very compact for Emergency and Transport or needed to be battery-powered allowing for use at home.

Anesthesia machines provide a mix of Air, Oxygen and anesthetic gases to the patient to allow medical procedures to be done without pain, and in some cases, without the patient being aware during the procedure. In terms of fluidics, anesthesia machines usually include all the main functions of a ventilator; with the addition of several functions such as anesthesia gas dosing.

Our highly experienced engineering and production teams design and manufacture custom-made sub-assemblies including miniature on/off valves, miniature proportional valves, high flow proportional valves, pressure regulators, sensors and electronics on machined metal or plastic manifolds. Complex fluidic circuits can be designed with our multi-layer manifold technology for optimal integration.

All our valves for medical devices and diagnostic instrumentation applications are produced under ISO 13485.

Flexisol

Representing a breakthrough in terms of performance and integration, we developed FLEXISOL to precisely control gases within portable medical devices and diagnostic instruments. FLEXISOL is designed for easy integration in compact environments.

Flatprop EQP
Flatprop EQP proportional valves draw its design from the 16mm Flatprop EQI enabling miniaturization of Acute, Sub-Acute and Emergency or Ambulatory Care Ventilators.
Flatprop EQP delivers 186 liters of oxygen per minute at 2.0 bar inlet pressure, maintaining low power consumption of 2.5W. Based on FAS original flat spring / flat plunger technology, Flatprop EQP proportional valve has frictionless operation ensuring repeatability and accuracy with the minimal hysteresis to where medical device manufacturers have relied on.
Auxiliary Components
Norgren products encompassing additional fluidic components for gas control.
